Posting Internship Job Description: Please Note: Internships are UNPAID and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Course Credit is available. Resume and Cover Letter are required. All graphic designers portfolio should be emailed to info@blestmagazine.com to be considered. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred) great people skills.

Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. students must still be enrolled in school during the time of the internship). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply.

Note to International Students:
All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program. Only J1 or F1 visas will be accepted. Deadline to apply for Spring/Summer Internships is January 29, 2007. Due to the high volume of candidates for BLEST Magazine's Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis. Qualifications:
Must have an interest for inspirational topics and visual communications. Effective communication skills are essential. Portfolio or examples of prior student projects/classwork are helpful but not required. Some working knowledge of graphic layout, editing, sales, marketing or writing skills. Some software such as Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Illustrator, Flash MX, Dreamweaver, Quark XPress, Power Point, Excel, MS Word is preferred, but not essential. Macintosh experience would also benefit the student.

BLEST Magazine is geared toward the interest of a diverse class of spiritually conscious professionals and their active lifestyles. Feature topics on blessed individuals, their achievements, talents and challenges. Targeting men and women of all cultures and denominations who are career oriented, adventurous, ambitious, fashion conscious and love the finer things in life.

Some travel may be required for sales, marketing, promotions or interviewing clients. The student can work from home, however good time management skills are required.

Promotions Manager
Performs a wide variety of activities to advertise and promote the sale of an organization's products or services and create interest with customers for the sale of strategic material. Responsibilities may include designing, writing and creating mailers; staffing and participating in events; field promotions; planning quarterly campaigns; preparing monthly call reports; and maintaining a leads database with promotion status. Requires outstanding communication and organizational skills.

Event Manager and Event Assistant
If you have a passion for planning and executing exciting consumer events, you're organized, detailed and hard working w/strong communication and problem-solving skills you'll be great in this role. We'll make you succeed. We are looking for an Events Manager who can work with our client service team to leverage clients’ involvement with sponsorships and properties by planning and managing events to build awareness and drive trial for strategic consumer brands. The events range from storefront events/in-store activities to festivals to sporting venues, and include product sampling, interactive games, premium items and brand information.

A&R Representative

Project Manager (PM1)

Job Profile
A Masscomm Project Manager will work closely with clients to create and implement projects, which are designed for the development and empowerment of our communities. The PM will set achievable milestones that ensure projects are completed on time and to budget.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and manager relationships with new and existing clients
  • Monitoring project progress, reporting against project milestones and putting in place corrective action if required.
  • Project management roles range from project implementation, and tasked based assignments, to more complex assignments and sometimes complete project ownership.

 

 

Assistant Project Manager (APM)

Job Profile
We are looking for talented project managers to work in the assistant project manager position. We need an energetic assistant project manager to take charge of and drive forward the initiatives of the project manager.

You must be a 'self-starter' and have a proven ability in project management without close supervision. Some knowledge of media and advertising would be an advantage, but not essential. Even if you have no experience in this area, if you are keen and show ability, you may get the opportunity to gain some experience assisting one of our Project Managers on a campaign. Public Relations Managers (PRM)

The essentials of making a powerful first impression and then sustaining that through the duration of the relationship is very important for the longevity of the relationship. We are looking for those individuals that have the ability to make a memorable impression, while considering the components for effective presentation.

Public relation(s) includes ongoing activities to ensure the company has a strong public image. Public relations activities include helping the public to understand the company its services and products. Often, public relations are conducted through the media, being that of, newspapers, television, magazines, etc. As noted above, public relation is often considered as one of the primary activities included in promotions. Attend Masscomm Community Connection events as appropriate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with other interns, create and execute relative orientation or other organizational programs.
  • Assist as availability permits with intern interviews and selection process.
  • Assist as needed in the recruitment of staff through promotional materials, and attendance at job fairs, college campuses, club presentations, etc.
  • Maintain contact with Community Partners.
  • Review applications.
  • Assist with interviews.
  • Assist in the recruitment and scheduling of volunteers for interviews.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor


 

Direct and Relationship Marketing (DRM)

The DRM will primarily manage the outward, direct marketing campaigns. This position involves methods such as - Direct mail, direct email, interview, field marketing, displays and bulk/complex distribution.
Response Handling & Fulfillment – Management of contact centers and response handling (call, mail, email, SMS etc) along with the subsequent fulfillment to responders (physical and electronic) and database maintenance/management.
This position can at time call for ongoing contact (Retention) – Long term contact strategy development and implementation. The work is varied and encapsulates the requirement for teamwork & autonomy, excellent client and agency handling skills, project management and negotiation skills. An understanding of both public and private sector communications would be an advantage. As a DRM Marketing Manager your responsibilities will cover:

Central Support Managers   (CSM) 

This position requires individuals that are “people oriented.” The primary responsibilities are to encourage and keep in touch with other departments, internally, making sure that organizational members and leaders are not short handed and continually motivated.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build Relationships: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve the goals of the organization.
  • Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
  • Monitoring project progress: reporting against project milestones and putting in place corrective action if required.
  • Create a contact schedule: Create a schedule that will allow for frequent and effective communication with internal personnel. This schedule will be the basis for evaluation reports.
